Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix, mileage, and seasonally adjusted basis) slipped marginally in August. The Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index reading was 118.8, which represented a 0.1 percent decline from July, but a 2.1 percent increase from a year ago.

Manheim Milwaukee and Lexus Financial Services teamed up to thank their loyal dealers with an exclusive online event sale and dealer appreciation event at Milwaukee’s Harley-Davidson Museum on Aug. 26. 


All Lexus franchise dealers, top 100 Lexus buyers, top 50 Toyota buyers and select highline buyers were invited to participate in the event. In addition to access to the special Online Event Sale, guests who attended the half-day event enjoyed an assortment of refreshments, received complimentary museum admission tickets and were invited to a post-sale reception.

Auto dealers experiencing the shortage of high-quality used vehicles across the country are expanding their reach with a virtual online inventory of vehicles from SmartAuction, Ally Financial's online wholesale remarketing auction site. 


This increasing demand has allowed SmartAuction to outperform the industry by recording a nearly 14 percent increase in dealer-to-dealer online wholesale transactions in the United States for the first six months of 2010 compared to the first six months last year.

Police arrested four men trying to steal cars from Manheim Daytona Beach Sept. 1. 


New Smyrna Beach police officers and a Volusia County sheriff’s helicopter worked together to capture the men as they fled the scene following an unsuccessful attempt to steal cars. 


The group had been spotted by auction security, who called the police.
